Desert's Broadway (:

I just realized I saved this as a draft instead of publishing it. You can't see it anymore, but I guess this is my review. So here it is:

:D
I am so excited to tell you about my WONDERFUL night!!!
I went to see Tuacahn's "The Little Mermaid" and I was blown away by all the actors.
If you, for some reason, are going back and forth between going and staying home and being a bum, I would go! It was AMAZING!

This is my excited self after the show tonight!

OhMyHeck!

I have always loved this movie and I used to dream that I could be a mermaid someday and marry Prince Eric.
This play pretty much cemented the fact that yes, indeed, I will do all in my power to marrry my prince and live happily ever after (:

Next year they are doing Disney's "Aladdin" and I'm sure it will be wonderful!
I saw Tarzan last year and I thought that Little Mermaid would NEVER be able to compare to it, but by golley it well exceeded my expectations!
I'm sure Aladdin will too, but I find it completely impossible that Aladdin could EVER be better than "The Little Mermaid"

Wanna know what else I realized? I am bipolar about my quotations. Sometimes 'Aladdin' and 'The Little Mermaid' will be in quotes, and other times I just leave them alone. Odd...

Well, go see The Little Mermaid ("The Little Mermaid").

End of story...

CHEER!!!

I am (attempting) to do a scorpion. I started cheer at the beginning of September and I am actually very proud of my abilities to do that. You try... and you tell me if you can do better. This freakin' kills my back every time I do it :(
I just thought I would tell you about how hard of a cheer life I have... but I love it (:
I don't even have my Back Handspring without a spot, but I still love it!
I am one of those people who will try and not give up because I want to prove to myself and everyone else that I can do anything.
So I will keep on trying to do tumbling and stunt work until I have it.

I am so excited about competition and performances (: It will be so much fun! I get to be a flyer and I am super excited about it! I was actually told that I have a natural talent at flying. Who would have thought I could learn so fast in just a month (:
In case you haven't realized... I love cheer.

So these are the inside of my cheer shoes. The one on the left in the one that I do all my libs and scorpions on, the one the right never does anything. As you can tell...
All the part that is white and peely-offy is supposed to be grey, but it all came off! That goes to show how freakin' much I do on my left leg.
It's crazy because I will go walk up my stairs after cheer and it only hurts every other step because my left leg is the only one that hurts.
Hehe. Haha. Funny cheer story!

Update! Update! Update!

I swear... It has been like 20 years since I've blogged. Let's just say I have had a VERY busy life since school has started.
I decided to get into cheer. I love it (: I'm a flyer and we are preparing for competition right now. We will be taking first ;)
I am also taking Graphic Arts at my school and it is amazing. I am learning so much and having so much fun. I definitely want to get into this field someday (:
I am also taking Honors Language Arts and have been very wrapped up in it. We are reading Great Expectations for class right now. Personally, I don’t like it. It might just be because it’s required to read though.
I recently made a model of a ziggurat for Honors World Civ. as well. I made it out of sugar cubes and it took like 4 hours to make and is made out of 8 boxes of sugar cubes… there are 260 cubes in each box. :o
I have decided I will try and blog at least once a week. Hopefully everyday (:
Thanks for reading!

Thrifting, Taffy, and Other Tasty things

Wow! Today has been cRaZy! I started my day by hopping in the car and running errands with my mom and little sister, Krista, all day. We stopped at a few places just for fun. We went to this huge warehouse full of random home décor items. It was fun (: you should have been!
This was a cool vintage mirror I REALLY wanted (:

My little sister even talked my mom into buying some amazingly delicious Taffy, we both decided to go patriotic and get the red white and blue. It was actually really good for only being 87 cents.

Deliciousness!

Krista with hers!

After taking our sugary filled break we got Dance Dance Revolution. What a fun game! I wasn’t very good at it, but, by golly! I was determined to have fun anyways! Krista is really good at the game… surprisingly (jk)!

This is Krista, rocking out.

I just found this blog beginning on my computer! It's from two days ago, oh well. I had completely forgotten about this :0 Oh well, so 2 days ago was great, I don’t really remember it, but it was great. The end… Later Kids (:

Followers and Visitors

I am excited! Are you wondering why? Yes! I am talking to you three great followers! You guys are amazing! You guys are legit. Remember to tell your friends. (: Thanks Kenzi for tweeting abour it!

I will get better at this whole blogging thing eventually! If you have any advice email me. (s.j_star@yahoo.com) Anyways...

Last night was a success! (In case you didn't read my last post, I had 8 guests over for the night.) We only knew two of them, Cameron, who is kind of like my brother, and his amazing wife Sibonet (See-bo-nay)! They are so fun, and we got to meet Sibonet's family, her 3 other siblings and her parents. They got to our house around 1:20am so we didn't have much time to socialize, but after finding sleeping arrangements for everyone, we were all too tired to do anything!

After a good night’s sleep I woke up to the smell of sausage. One by one all eight of our lovely guests filed into the kitchen. We had time to socialize and get to know each other. They were wonderful guests! They better come visit again.

This morning after they left, my mom and I decided that today would be a good day for a do-nothing day. It went well; we channel flipped and made goodies all day. I even found a great Italian Soda Recipe. They are now pretty much my favorite things. You have got to try them. Here are a few pics of them!
A delicious mixture of cream, club soda, and flavored syrup.

Even the whipped cream on top was homemade (:

Well today was productive, I believe everyone needs a little down time to just relax. Stress = no fun, but taking the time to just sit back and relax can do wonder! Later kids (:

Update and Gifts

It has been FOREVER since I have been able to access a computer to blog on. I am so thankful we finally got Wi-Fi in my new house (: Anyways...

Eight people are coming to stay at my house tonight, yeah! EIGHT!!! That's crazy. So my family has been cleaning and setting up bed arrangements all day. Thankfully earlier today we made it to Michaels, which is kind of like a hobby shop, there are a lot of crafty things there.

I bought some things for Secret Sister Gifts for my churches Girls Camp. One of the things I made is a nice little trinket box. I painted the sides with a nice b&w zebra print and the top is a dark mahogany red color with a white flower accenting the lid.

Full view!

Side view (:
Well, I pretty much love it. Whoever gets this should be thankful. It took me at least three hours. Maybe I will do a tutorial on how to make it on here. I don't know if anyone cares, but that would be cool.

Well, next week I will be gone from Mon-Fri for my Girls Camp. I can probably blog Friday night though. We aren't allowed cell phones, iPods, or any other kind of electronic, so it is pretty much impossible for me to keep you all up to date on what’s happening. I will take loads of pictures though and definitely post them! It will be exciting!!! Email me if you have any fun experiences from a summer camp of yours! (s.j_star@yahoo.com)

Keep on smiling! Later kids (:

Difficult Times and a Busy Day

I don't really know what I am going to blog about today. I guess I will just tell you what I did today!
  • Woke up at 11 (finally slept in!!!)
  • Made myself a bagel, I really like bagels... with cream cheese and butter :D
  • I sat around for a few hours doing random stuff
  • At 2 I went into town with my dad and sister and we got free Slurpees (It's free Slurpee day!!!)
  • Came home and painted the deck with some kind of water sealer-outer. Not really too sure what it does!
  • It started pouring so my little sister and I went outside and danced in the rain (:
  • We came in after our little montage soaking wet and covered with mud!
  • I took a shower, nice and warm :)
  • Then at like 6 I helped my dad make some green chili for tomorrows dinner! Yum!
  • Then we ate burgers with chips, well I didn't 'cause I am a veg-head(vegetarian) , but everyone else did!
  • Then as a family we all watched a movie, Vacation With Derek. Wasn't too bad of a movie!
  • After I decided to take some down time on my own and mess around on twitter (follow me @33StellarSydney) and my blog!
  • Now I am finishing my blog and getting ready for bed. I have a busy day tomorrow! We are power washing our whole house, then painting it, then I'm going to hang out with some friends.
Well as some of you may know, I moved from a small town in Colorado to a city in Utah last year. I have been overwhelmed by all the opportunities offered at my new school and church. This summer we decided to sell our house in Colorado and buy on in Utah. We found our dream home and decided to buy it. So we closed on it last week and now we are emptying our house in Colorado and spiffing it up for sale. It has been a lot of work, and pretty depressing seeing our house nearly empty. I grew up in this house for 14 of the years that I have lived. I am  having a hard time moving on because I love the people in this town so much and haven't really made too many great friends in Utah yet. Hopefully this coming school year will be better for me and I will be able to branch out a little bit more.

Anyways, the moral of that little story is: if you move and are having a hard time adjusting just remember to be yourself and continue to step forward toward happiness. You will make it eventually, and if not, well you can always try going about it a different way. Thank you for your support. Later kids (:

Photoshop Fun!

Today I decided to experiment on my new computer. I made a few videos, which I will post later, and edited a few pics. They are pretty great :)

I made this one kind of as a hint to my parents. We need to go to the beach! And soon! Haha.

This one is a little cRaZy, but hey, I'm pretty crazy myself (:

Those glasses aren't real. I wish they were though (:

Well asside from photoshopping pics, my day went pretty good. I cleaned the house in Colorado (bleh!) for my parents because the were on there way back from Utah. After I was done with that I went channel surfing but didn't find anthing too good on the TV. At 6pm my parents and little sister came home. Turns out my sister died her hair! It looks really good, just different. Well after that we ran into town for some Pizza and finished the day by sitting around the table talking about our week. Pretty good day!

Just remeber, don't take advantage of your family. Although you may fight with your siblings or argue with your parents, you have just got to know that they will ALWAYS be there to support you.

Mexican Food and Mating Birds

How easily entertained can you be?

Yesterday my grandpa, my sister, Sam, and I all went out to a new Mexican restaurant in town.  When we arrived at the restaurant we were asked a simple question “upstairs or patio?” My grandpa can’t walk up stairs so we decided to go outside. Little did I know that it would be quite chilly outside and we would have to wait nearly an hour for our meals.

We all ordered and were excited to try some new food; we all love Mexican, I mean, who doesn’t!? Anyways, after waiting 20 minutes for our food, eating all of our chips and downing our drinks various times, Samantha and I got restless. We decided to do random stuff to entertain ourselves. After pretending to be a spy and dancing without any music we heard loud noises coming from a bush… right by our table. You wanna know what all the noise was? Two tweetin’ birds getting’ a little fRiSkY is what it was. Now, normally we wouldn’t be so amused by that, but I hadn’t eaten lunch and Sam was exhausted from her Youth Conference. So battling exhaustion and starvation, we laughed our little brains out.

Some people may not be able to relate to our humor or our predicament, but we waited 45 minutes for our meal to come, and we were the only ones on the patio the whole time! My grandpa did not find humor in the two birds mating and was more furious to the fact that our food was taking so long. You do not separate my grandpa from his 3 enchiladas! Haha. But seriously, I think I ate two baskets of chips just by myself.

Needless to say, when you are faced with a bad predicament and you are starting to get a little angry, you can always try to find humor in small things. That’s what I did and I made it through the night! I love my sister, she is just like a friend to me. Thanks Sam, I love you <3

Scary Films and Past Disney Shows

What an exciting day!

I have had a pretty exciting day! I woke up and found that my Laptop had transferred all of my music from my old computer successfully. That’s always a good thing :) Then I ate a bagel, you gotta love those bagels! Haha. So then I remembered that I hadn't checked my phone. I had gotten a text from my friend Alex saying that she and I are hanging out today at our friend Hopel's house. I got ready, lookin hot :) and had my grandpa drive me to her house.

Once there, we played Mario Brothers (I think that's what it's called!) and then chilled and ate some Raman Noodles. Afterwards my friends and I decided, I don't know why, to watch a horror film. I've only watched two scary movies in my whole life that I can remember, and they aren't even that scary (Paranormal Activity and Prom Night) O.o

We decided to watch House of Wax, may not sound scary, but coming from a girl who VERY rarely watches movies, let alone horror movies, it was pretty spooky. If you have ever seen that movie you should know that it is pretty gruesome. I mean, almost everyone died. I had a hard time watching the movie so when it came around to 4pm I was thankful that my Grandpa had arrived.

After dropping off Alex I finally came home. I have no clue why I was so excited to come home, our house is almost empty. We have an air mattress and a TV, sitting on the floor. So when I got home I decided to cool my mind after that movie, so I decided to watch some old Disney shows, namely That's So Raven and Lizzie McGuire! They definitely weren't horror, I can tell you that much. Do any of you remember those shows? They are pretty great, if I do say so myself :D

Well, this is my first blog and I hope you continue to read it. I will keep you updated on my life. Later kids (:
